During the public ministry of Jesus, John was the youngest of the apostles. He deeply loved Jesus and Jesus loved him. After the resurrection, John cared for Jesus’ mother and became a pastor. Just as Jesus loved him, John loved his congregation. He loved them through persecution, famine, and controversy. He also charged them to love one another.
