God calls His people to be His agents of restoration in the places where He leads us. We believe that God calls us to work for the “welfare of the city” (Jer. 29:11). City Church believes in the importance of strong neighborhoods and vibrant communities. It is our hope that God would use us to serve the community that He has placed us in.

We believe that life is found in giving it away. We also believe that small acts of service can make great impact in healing the brokenness of our city.

Ongoing neighborhood Opportunities

Each year we host volunteers from all throughout the country to come serve in Baltimore City. Volunteers receive training in the culture of Baltimore and have opportunities to serve in various capacities throughout the city. Contact us to set up a service intensive with City Church. strong city baltimore

City Church Baltimore is a partner of Strong City Baltimore. Strong City Baltimore, originally the Greater Homewood Community Corporation, was established in 1969 with a mission of building and strengthening communities in Baltimore. This involves ensuring safe streets, quality housing stock, strong public schools and livability for Baltimore residents. Organizations belonging to GHCC are collectively committed to pursuing the well being of the neighborhoods they serve, with the understanding that the well being of one is dependent on the well being of all others.

The Greater Homewood Community Corporation operates a community center in North Baltimore that provides high quality, low cost programming for over 300 people a week. The center hosts events for both adults and kids, including an after school program that relies on the presence and assistance of volunteers. Contact us if you'd like to become a volunteer.
