Throughout much of history, God’s people interacted with the world from the outside. More often than not, they found themselves in a world that was either apathetic or outright hostile to their faith. What did it mean for them to practice their faith while in exile? What does it mean for you and I to do the same?

We are going to spend the winter looking at two exiles: Joseph and Daniel. Both found themselves in powerful, foreign kingdoms that were oppositional to their faith. How could they protect and even grow their faith in circumstances so difficult and even hostile?

Many have said that Christians today are living in exile. Our world is often apathetic and even oppositional to to our faith. How do we understand the times we are living in? What does it mean for you and I to live out our faith while in exile?
